# Red Agate and Turquoise Tai Chi Pendant - Sterling Silver

**What does this jewelry represent?**

The Taiji Yin and Yang Diagram, also known as the Taijitu (太极图), is a symbol that represents the concept of Yin and Yang, which is central to Chinese philosophy, medicine, and martial arts. The Taijitu consists of a circle divided into two halves, one black (Yin) and the other white (Yang), with a curved line separating them. Within each half, there is a small circle of the opposite color, indicating the interdependence and interconnectedness of Yin and Yang.

The black half represents Yin, which is associated with feminine energy, darkness, coldness, passivity, and receptivity. The white half represents Yang, which is associated with masculine energy, light, warmth, activity, and creativity. The curved line represents the dynamic balance and interplay between Yin and Yang, as they constantly transform into each other and interact to create a harmonious whole.
